The Homecoming festival of graduates of the department which was the pioneer mass communication department in West Africa will witness a return of great communication experts who studied at the department and have become noted for exploits globally. In a three-day celebration, the graduates are returning to collectively give back to their alma mater. Under their Town meets Gown projects, they will be hosting series of programmes to celebrate the return and interact with the students presently in the department.

The Los Angeles based producer who also graduated from the department will be throwing light on how and what is needed to open vistas of opportunities for the Nollywood industry and how best to harness the opportunities to grow Nollywood. For a while, Oyamendan has been hosting Nigerian producers and films in Los Angeles as a way of creating a mingling arena for Nigerian producers to show their works and find possible partnerships in the Hollywood industry.

As part of his presentation, Oyamendan will open his very popular documentary made in Gaza that has been selling on Amazon to the audience at the colloquium. He will be speaking mainly on opportunities that abound in the Hollywood film industry, the need for professionalism, the need to enhance better Africa based qualitative stories, the weapon needed to conquer the film world and the available opportunities that abound in the film industry.
