With campaign posters of Accord Party presidential candidate, Dr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, appearing across parts of Kano State, political mobilisation for his 2027 ambition is gaining visibility, as Hon. Miko Bashir and other support group leaders pledge to deliver two million votes for him in the state.
Speaking during the mobilisation activities, Bashir and other leaders declared that a new Nigeria would begin from Kano, positioning the state as a major battleground in their effort to build support for Hashim’s presidential bid.
The stakeholders said their two million vote target reflects their determination to build a formidable grassroots campaign for Hashim across Kano, a major centre of political mobilisation.
They described the growing display of campaign posters as part of a wider effort to take Hashim’s message beyond political meetings and into communities, markets and neighbourhoods, while expanding engagement with voters ahead of the election.
For the support group leaders, the campaign is about more than promoting a presidential candidate. They said it represents an opportunity to mobilise Nigerians around the prospect of a new political direction, with Kano positioned as a major starting point.
Recall that the Senatorial candidate of Accord in Jigawa Central and National Coordinator of Hashim Progressive Movement, Comrade Aminu Aminu has declared that the North West will deliver 6 million votes for Accord Party in the presidential election.
Their declaration, “A new Nigeria will begin from Kano,” captures the ambition of the mobilisation effort and the importance the groups attach to the state in Hashim’s presidential campaign.
As the 2027 contest approaches, the growing visibility of Hashim across the country and the mobilisation promises from his supporters mark an effort by Accord to strengthen its presence in Kano and establish the state as a key base of its presidential campaign.
