In a landmark development that redefines the relationship between scholarship and commerce, the Association of Media and Communication Researchers of Nigeria (AMCRON) has officially been admitted into the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI).
This monumental achievement makes AMCRON the first academic association to secure membership of the esteemed chamber.
Dated September 16, 2026, and bearing Membership Number 2383 under Category C, the official membership certificate was duly endorsed by the President and the Director General of the ACCI.
This historic integration practically bridges the critical link between the “town and the gown”, tearing down traditional silos between academic research and the corporate sphere. Through this affiliation, AMCRON is strategically positioned to foster stronger partnerships between scholars, researchers, entrepreneurs, industry stakeholders, and development practitioners.
This achievement marks an important chapter in AMCRON’s institutional growth and reflects its determination to ensure that research findings address real-world challenges, support enterprise, and contribute to sustainable economic and social development while at the same time expanding opportunities for its members and strengthening the relevance and visibility of media and communication research in Nigeria.
Under the visionary leadership of Prof. Eserinune McCarty Mojaye, whose unwavering dedication continues to propel the association toward unprecedented heights of institutional excellence, this milestone opens up a new horizon of professional distinction and creates new opportunities for collaboration, enterprise development, innovation, industrial growth, and professional advancement.
The association looks forward to leveraging the ACCI platform to promote research-driven solutions, knowledge exchange, capacity building, and initiatives that contribute meaningfully to national development.
