Tractor on The Go Introduces a Game-Changing Farm Mechanization, Telematics and Farm Equipment-Hailing App Service

In a bold move to keep revolutionising large-scale agriculture in Nigeria, “Tractor on The Go” (TOG), a subsidiary of Origin Tech Group, launched a groundbreaking tractor-hailing app service in 2019. This innovative platform was initially designed to tackle the challenges of low tractor density and limited access to mechanisation services among small-holder farmers. Now, it is been upgraded to still serve its initially purpose and also to provide equipment tracking and monitoring services. TOG’s mission is to empower farming communities by providing affordable and accessible mechanization support, enhancing farm productivity, and contributing to food security across the nation.
“Tractor on The Go” was established to bring together stakeholders within the agricultural value chain, fostering seamless collaboration to deliver mechanization services to smallholder farmers in their communities, associations, and clusters. The initiative is strategically designed to address the persistent lack of mechanization support that has stunted the growth of small-scale farming in Nigeria.
Anthony Agbonlahor, Head of “Tractor on The Go,” says “We recognize how crucial mechanisation is for improving farm productivity and securing the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. Our goal is to break down the barriers that have historically limited farmers’ access to tractors and other essential equipment. ‘Tractor on The Go’ isn’t just a service; it’s a movement dedicated to transforming agriculture in Nigeria and beyond.”
The primary aim of “Tractor on The Go” is to ensure every farmer can access mechanisation services promptly, which will boost productivity and maximize returns on existing landholdings. By strategically increasing tractor density across Nigeria, TOG is paving the way for a sustainable and profitable agribusiness environment, ultimately contributing to the nation’s agricultural development.
TOG offers cost-effective tractor services tailored to the needs of smallholder farmers, helping them scale their operations efficiently. The project is also committed to training and mentoring young people, giving them the tools and knowledge to access and manage tractors when needed—without the financial burden of ownership—thereby fostering entrepreneurship within the agricultural sector.
The app’s vision includes establishing a Mobile Tractor Centre in every state across Nigeria, ensuring that farmers have reliable and continuous access to mechanization services.
Agbonlahor further stated, “We urge all interested farmers to join this transformative initiative. By harnessing the power of technology and collaboration, ‘Tractor on The Go’ is set to eliminate the challenges faced by smallholder farmers, making agriculture more productive and profitable for everyone involved.” It is the power of a thousand men in your hands.
“Tractor on The Go” is a farm mechanization service provider committed to revolutionizing agriculture in Africa, one hectare at a time. By addressing the issues of low tractor density and limited access to mechanization, TOG empowers smallholder farmers to increase their productivity, secure their livelihoods, and contribute to national food security.
