Counsel to the Nigeria Customs Service, Zone ‘A’, Vivian Aigbadon said, the defendants pleaded not guilty and moved their bail application, but it was opposed.

In her words, “Their bail application was moved, we moved our counter, opposing the application and it was adjourned for ruling on the 30th of May, and they have been remanded at the correctional centre”.

Meanwhile, Ismail Shuaibu, Jimoh Yakubu, and Abdullahi Muazu who were arraigned on a two-count charge a week ago, are still at the correctional centre, as their bail applications were also opposed.

“We opposed their bail applications because they are members of a syndicate and they have other members that are at large, so releasing them would jeopardize the investigations that are still ongoing”. She said.

“The case has been reserved for ruling on the 24th of May, 2023” She added.
