A political pressure group, The Concerned Professionals for Adamawa Development (CPAD), have praised the resolve of the Governor of the State, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, for kick-starting electioneering campaigns in rural communities in the state.

The group described such move as a positive paradigm shift from what is hitherto obtainable in the state.  The group further described Fintiri’s gesture as a political masterstroke, aimed at bringing rural communities into the front-burner of his development strides.

According to the President of CPDA, Mailafiya Song Iliya, in a statement made available to newmen, “unlike in other States, where electioneering campaigns are kicked-off at the state capitals, Gov. Fintiri’s decision to first seek the supports of the electorates in the rural communities by launching the state-wide campaigns in Shelleng and Guyuk, is second to none in the country”.

It was observed that the Governor decided to accord rural communities premium place in deciding who should govern the Adamawa people, because, “about 60 percent of the voters live in rural communities which the Governor identified as key for the campaigns. Iliya commended the people of Shelleng and Guyuk Local Government Areas for their massive turnout at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign last week, during the inauguration of the 2023 campaigns in the state. The CPAD president commended the two communities “for their solidarity and fellowship to the leadership of the State Governor.

According to him, “the warmth, hospitality and unparalleled support shown by the two communities demonstrate their appreciation of the sustainable development initiatives of the Governor’s developmental strides in the last four years”. The group noted that “another four years of the Fintiri leadership will surely multiply manifold, the development strides achieved in Guyuk and Shelleng since 2019, when Governor Fintiri ascended into office”.They added: “Having met his 11-point Agenda in all parts of the state in just four years, Governor Fintiri is poised to multiply his achievements in the next four years, if given the opportunity. Another four-year term of exemplary governance is required to guarantee stability and prosperity for the people of Adamawa. “The people of Shelleng and Guyuk should therefore kindly consider Governor Finri for another four-year opportunity to enable him implement his eight-point agenda from 2023 till 2027,” Iliya stated.

The statement also acknowledged the resolve of the people of Shelleng and Guyuk for pledging to vote for all candidates of the PDP at all levels in the forthcoming 2023 elections. It was gathered that the resolve of the people of Adamawa State to unflinchingly rally round Adamawa’s most eminent statesman and political mogul, the presidential candidate of the PDP, Aku Abubakar, in his bid to become the next President of Nigeria. “We are proud of the growing support regarding Atiku’s historic place in Nigeria’s political history and their preparedness to vote en-mass for him in the 2023 Presidenal Election.

“There is no doubt that Atiku is the most prepared presidential candidate, a reason for which he is proving to be the most preferred presidential candidate by Nigerians across board.

“The people of Adamawa have confirmed that Atiku is a ready-made leader who understands Nigeria’s development challenges, and has convincing and implementable blueprint of solutions for the country.

“We therefore feel that the return of Governor Fintiri under an Atiku Presidency will be a dual blessing for the people of Adamawa in 2023,” Iliya emphasized
