Details have emerged of how some handlers of former President Muhammadu Buhari launched many initiatives to stop former Presidential Candidate, Dr. Gbenga Hashim from running effectively against the APC towards the 2019 election.

Dr Hashim in an exclusive response to an allegation by his Ex-wife that he abandoned her children alleged the lady in question was recruited as early as 2016.

Dr Hashim said as we prepare to run for 2027 election the remnant of the team is trying to play from their old play book.

According to him, “she had been recruited by elements around Buhari in the UK High Commission and the Nigerian Intelligence Agency, NIA.

”Apart from other sinister things they did, they tried to frame me up for funding terrorism working with a unit in the UK. I was questioned in the UK and left to go when they did not find any substance in their allegations. She was the one who gave the information to the UK authorities.”

Dr. Hashim added that “they framed all those things because they knew I had capacity to remove them from power in the 2019 election. They were not afraid of Atiku, they were afraid of me and they went all out against me very early.

They also seized two of my oil assets and I had to fight right to the Appeal Court to salvage what I could salvage.

In November 2020, a Federal High Court in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city actually set aside the purported reversal of the consent given by the Government for the farm-out agreement between Chevron and Transnational Energy Limited (TEL) on the Abigborodo and Hely Creeks marginal fields in the Oil Mining Lease (OML) 49.

The court then restored the two marginal oil fields (Hely Creek and Abigborodo fields) to Transnational Energy Limited (TEL) after the Nigerian President revoked the company’s rights to them. The court also awarded TEL $20 million in damages against the Federal Government institutions involved in the revocation.

Justice Taiwo Taiwo, in his judgment restoring the oil fields to the TEL, awarded $20m damages against the Federal Government institutions joined as defendants in the case.

The farm-out which was concluded in 2017 was for the purpose of providing feedstock to a gas-to-power project developed by Transnational Energy Limited and partners.

But in January 2019, the late Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, in a memo, revoked the ministerial consent purportedly on the instruction of the President, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.).

The DPR, in compliance with the purported revocation and without any notice to TEL put the two fields in the 2020 marginal fields basket, despite that the fields were not part of the original 57 fields approved for the bid round.

Dissatisfied, TEL and its sister company, Bresson A.S. Nigeria Limited, had through their lawyer, Dr. Sijuwade Kayode, filed the suit marked, FHC/ABJ/CS/1067/2020, at the Federal High Court Abuja, to challenge the purported revocation.

Dr. Hashim maintained that the ex-wife “was recruited by then Deputy Director General of the NIA, Airforce General Bello from Kwara who is her in law.

He added that” in England she launched a ruinous divorce against me to claim 50% of my Net worth which she claimed was 2b usd as at 2016 she was awarded a little over 18m pounds (36billion naira) pounds in the undefended divorce suit in England. The court in Nigeria annulled her judgment because we married under Nigerian law.

“Buhari handlers funded her with millions of dollars nominating her for several foreign grants for female entrepreneurs and start-up businesses. My lawyers have written her many times to provide account details for children upkeep but she refused because she wants 18 million Pounds not up upkeep.

He added that “she has kept the children away from my family vowing no one would ever see them. She wants money but won’t allow access to children.”

The frontline politician maintained that” now that the 2027 campaign has started, the same APC team has picked her up again pushing her story in the media. Her lawyers have access to my lawyers giving children upkeep is never a problem. But raising children is not just a money matter. We love the children and we want to see them.”

“Funmi is not your everyday mother whose children are suffering neglect. She is a professional blackmailer and social climber who has made plenty of money from that trade!

“The truth is she has been trying to sell this story for years and every time she tries, she gets only one to two media mentions.

“Of all the major media she got only Thisday to publish her 18m GBP Award (N36 billion) from the undefended suit she filed in England. The English family Court judgment, is the judgement of a court lower than a High court was subsequently annulled in Nigeria.

“Under Nigeria laws only the High Court has Jurisdiction over Marriages conducted in a registry in Nigeria!” Dr. Hashim concluded.
