Kwara State Governor and Chairman, Nigeria Governor’s Forum ( NGF), AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has lauded Nigeria’s new Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Mr. Lateef Fagbemi, SAN for his legal and jurisprudence prowess.
Speaking at a reception he hosted at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja for the minister, Gov. AbdulRazaq said Kwara is proud of the emergence of its son as the nation top law officer.
The governor, who set the tone for the night’s tributes to Fagbemi, expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his excellent cabinet pick from Kwara State .
Senate Deputy Chief Whip and two- term Senator from Kwara South, Senator Yisa Oyelola Ashiru spoke glowingly about Fagbemi’s sterling community service in Kwara State.
He said Fagbemi’s appointment would bring about a new synergy for development between federal appointees , National Assembly members from Kwara State and the state government.
The President of Nigeria Bar Association, Yakubu Maikyau and senior lawyers who spoke at the dinner expressed confidence in Fagbemi’s integrity and capacity to discharge his duties creditably.
Head of the Fagbemi family, Sulaiman Ayo Fagbemi , expressed appreciation to AbdulRazaq for sponsoring the dinner and for supporting the family and Ijagbo community in their endeavours.
Responding, the honoree, Mr. Lateef Fagbemi, SAN thanked the governor for organising the reception and pledged not to disappoint the President, Kwara state , his professional colleagues and Nigerians in general in discharging his duties.
