Since its launch in 2023, “Sight First” has already provided eye care services to approximately 4,000 patients across AGPC’s host and impacted communities. The programme focuses on promoting healthy practices, facilitating early detection, and offering treatment for eye-related issues. The initiative is part of AGPC’s broader commitment to giving back to the communities where it operates and ensuring that health and well-being remain top priorities.

During the official opening ceremony, AGPC’s Managing Director, Engr. Effiong Okon expressed the company’s dedication to improving community health, saying: “AGPC recognizes the profound importance of eye care, and our initiative today is aimed at addressing one of the most fundamental aspects of human well-being — vision. Through this Corporate Social Responsibility program, we aim to provide essential eye care and vision correction to those in our communities who need it most”.

He emphasised AGPC’s long-term commitment to this initiative, announcing that it would be expanded into an annual program. The move reflects the company’s determination to make a lasting impact and ensure that community members living with eye-related medical challenges receive the support and care they need.

“Through this initiative, we aim to ignite vision and illuminate lives in our host and impacted communities”, Okon added.

AGPC remains dedicated to improving the quality of life for those within its operational areas, reinforcing the company’s promise of responsible and impactful corporate citizenship.
