The CSU admitted error in date but said the error was traced to administrative mistake.

The results which have caused a lot of controversy in Nigeria was released by Chicago State University on Monday in line with U.S District Court order located in Northern Illinois.

It was gathered that after tribunal dismissed Atiku’s dual citizenship petition against Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar then requested for the original academic records issued from Chicago State University to back up his allegation of certificate forgery in court.

At the US court ruling at the weekend, the judgement delivered stated that the University should released Tinubu’s academic records and every other necessary documents to Atiku on or before 12 noon on Monday.

According to Atiku’s request from the University, We want to see “true and correct copies of any diplomas issued by CSU (other than to Mr Tinubu) that contain the same font, seal, signatures, and wording (other than the name of the recipient and the specific degree awarded)”.

The university that was unable to provide “a copy of the original diploma it prepared for Mr Tinubu in 1979” said they do not keep copies of students diploma certificate.

The CSU says it, “does not in the ordinary course keep copies of student diplomas, and after diligent search cannot locate a copy of the original diploma it prepared for Mr. Tinubu in 1979, hence has no documents responsive to this request.”

However, To comply with the court order, the university management was able to locate and produce seven different certificates for Bachelor of Science degree it issued in 1979, “after diligent search”.

The University which was able to grant three of Atiku’s four requests, produced four sets of documents copies of which went viral online on Monday.
