The erudite CG in a stakeholders’ forum today, 4th September, 2023 echoed the renewed vigour, via the Assistant Commandant – General, in charge of Private Guard Companies’ Department, at the NSCDC, National Headquarters, Abuja, ACG Chukwudi Esiegwu, to enshrine professionalism, compliance to rules and regulations, obligations and other significant statutory objectives expected of professional members of the industry, while addressing the executives of Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria ( ALPSPN ), Lagos Zone led by Mr Babatunde Mumuni.

The ACG also seized the opportunity to state categorically that the Corps has developed, new strategies, through digitalization and robust policy formulations that will aid discipline, fairness, total compliance and justice in the industry across the country.

Collaboration between the Corps, the practitioners and stakeholders remain inseparable in furtherance to achieving effective services in the industry, as this has been identified in the earlier discussions aimed at ensuring progress today.

The State Commandant Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Lagos State Command, Commandant of Corps Usman Ishaq Alfadarai, fdc, MFR, also added his voice to emphatically, say, “PGC will no longer be business as usual as no stone will be left unturned to effect a drastic turnaround in the industry in Lagos,” Alfadarai also said.

One of the companies visited, to symbolize the flag off operation today, was Proton Security Services limited, where the issues of quackery, delay in renewal of license, impersonation and other unholy practices were collectively, identified, to be inimical to the growth and development of the industry and stand the chances of flaming insecurity in our dear nation as well as sabotage the efforts of governments at all levels. Therefore, the Corps has profered solutions that will bring all of these challenges to an end in the interim and on the long run in the coming days.

Obviously, in a bid to stamp out the aforementioned challenges in the industry , in the Lagos Zone, the PGC operational team of the National Headquarters and the Lagos State Command have been directed to commence rigorous operation to ensure the rules are being adhered to and illicit practitioners are brought to book swiftly.
