MORO DESCENDANTS DEVELOPMENT UNION (MODDU)
Presentation at the Kwara North Traditional Rulers -Stakeholders byers Engagement at Bode Saadu. 8th Oct, 2026
Courtesies.
Moro Descendants Development Union(MODDU), is the highest Sociocultural and Development Union for all bonafide indigenes of Moro Local Government, home and abroad. The union is the only approved and recognised one to speak on behalf of the entire indigene of the local Government on all matters affecting her, n also determining our relationship with other regions, LGAs, Kwara State and the country at large. The union derives this authority NOT only from her constitution, but also from our revered traditional rulers, Obas and Bales, a constituted Board of trustees and all bonafide indigene.
In view of the above brief introduction, I, Professor Reuben Kehinde Akano, the President of MODDU, on behalf of our Obas, Bales, BOT, the entire leadership of MODDU executive as well as all Indigenes home and abroad, do hereby make the following observations about this gathering holding here in Bode Saadu, our local Government headquarter, before we can proceed further.
a)That the Composition of traditional Rulers here present is NOT only wrong, but constitute an insult to the sensibility of all bonafide indigene of Moro, home and abroad.
b)That the Daudu of Bode Saadu invited here or any other Daudus for that matter are NOT Moro traditional Rulers and thus can NOT sit here as one(This has been confirmed and validated by several court judgements, here shown). They are mere tax collectors
c)That the said Daudu of Bode Saadu or any others in Moro are NOT from Kwara North but from Kwara central.
d)That inviting him here to sit with our revered Ohoro of Shao and Oba of Jebba on matters concerning Moro is wrong and completely insensitive on the part of those that invited him
e) That Moro LGA, apart from Ohoro of Shao and Oba of Jebba has other Bales and Mogajis representing various other towns and villages.
f)That Bode Saadu here has her recognised Bale, superintendent over Bode Saadu and NOT a tax collector.
g)That going forward with this traditional rulers engagement, the District heads should not be invited with our recognised traditional rulers and this has to stop immensely,Moro people will not take it.
H) Moro people has also been deprived politically since 1999 as no Indigene of Moro has been elected into the national Assembly position. It is easy for the Kwara North to cry marginalization in the state but Mor
more marginalized in the Kwara North. No House of Representatives or Senate tickets since 1999 for any Moro indigene. It is another spade of oppression.
We so submit.
Thanks.
