WOMEN PROTESTERS REJECT EJIGBADERO AS APC FLAGBEARER FOR AGBADO/OKE-ODO LCDA

We the women, your followers and loyal members of the All Progressives Congress APC in Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA are compelled to seek your urgent intervention as our leader and father to review the ongoing attempt to impose one Abiodun Ejigbadero disguised as Ishola Jimoh as our party’s flag bearer in Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA for the scheduled Local Government Election for 12th July 2025.”

Hundreds of All Progressives Congress (APC) female members today Thursday stormed the State House in Marina with petitions appealing to Lagos’s Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to help them reach out to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the last local government primaries.

Top on their demand, the women agitated for the cancellation of the APC LG primaries for Àgbàdo/Oke-Odo Council.

In the petition jointly signed by Mrs Funmilayo Odelabi, the LGA Vice Chairperson and Mrs Mary Ishola, the LGA Woman Leader addressed to Tinubu, with a similar one written to Sanwo-Olu, and dated May 22, titled Re: Wrongful selection of Abiodun Ejigbadero or Ishola as the APC candidate for local government election Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA read:

“We the women, your followers and loyal members of the All Progressives Congress APC in Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA are compelled to seek your urgent intervention as our leader and father to review the ongoing attempt to impose one Abiodun Ejigbadero disguised as Ishola Jimoh as our party’s flag bearer in Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA for the scheduled Local Government Election for 12th July 2025.”

“Our President Sir, in a strange, most secretive and unusual primary election ever conducted at the State Party Secretariat on 10th May, 2025 where delegates, aspirants and their agents were barred from observing the election process, Abiodun Ejigbadero, who was never a member of the APC in our LCDA was declared to have emerged the winner.
We the women of the All Progressives Congress reject the outcome of the election in its totality as it does not conform with the standards of democracy and openness you have set for our party over the years and is far from the reality on ground in Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA”.

“The strangest and most bizarre of the entire exercise is the apparent attempt to conceal the real identity of the individual to avoid your scrutiny and that of the entire leadership by officially presenting him as Ishola Jimoh instead of Abiodun Ejigbadero for which he had always being in the news for the very wrong reasons for several years”.

“The motive of this sudden name change can be readily apparent and it is none other than to hide his real identity from the leaders of the party”.

The women forum further stated that,”To this end, disclaimers and petitions signed by all the Executive Members of Ward E Agbelekale/Olota where he is claiming and Executive Committee Members of the LGA denouncing his membership of the party in Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA had been submitted to the office of the State Chairman of the APC days ahead of the screening exercise for the primaries “

“Sir, the question then is that how well does this individual fit into the lofty ideals of our party, long reputed for high standards of integrity, decency and values to be presented for the position of Local Government Chairman”?

“In the light of the foregoing Sir, we request for the outright cancellation of the hideous and shameful caricature of elections that is capable of casting serious doubts on the ideals of justice and fairness that you have always stood up for as our leader and mentor”.

“We appeal to you to compel the Primary Elections Committee to announce the true result of the election or the conduct of a fresh election in the full glare of all relevant stakeholders.
Please also find attached a list of the fourteen of the accredited delegates who participated in the supposed 24-man delegate election process”.

“Our Asiwaju, we have always believed in you and we remain your followers. We are not in doubt that you remain the one man who can forestall the ongoing attempt to freeze out a majority of party members from a system we have served with utmost loyalty and for which we have never faltered”.

“The All Progressives Congress have never lost any election in Agbado/Oke-Odo LCDA and will not lose one in any foreseeable future”. The women stated.
